Philip Garbutt (FR-EN), managing director and co-founder, graduated from the Southampton University in Civil Engineering and from the ENPC in Paris. He is a member of the of the Institution or Structural Engineers. Starting his career in bridge design and special projects at Bouygues and Ove Arup, Philip settled as an independent structural Engineer in 1999 that was to become Design Box in 2009. Thinking out of the box has lead the way forward for Design Box.

Pedro Natário (EN-PT), is a highly skilled engineer and project manager with a robust technical foundation. He brings a diverse experience in structural and civil engineering from both the UK and Portugal, having previously collaborated with Waterman Structures and Whitby Wood. Starting out as a bridge engineer in 2007, Pedro spent a few years in academia before restarting his career as a design engineer in 2014. His project portfolio is widely diverse, including large residential and mixed-use schemes (up to £500M), cultural infrastructure, refurbishment and extension of existing retail and commercial assets. He has recently embarked on the challenge of establishing Design Box’s new office in London, where he leads a small but ambitious engineering team.
